Philadelphia Museum of Art: Treasures from Korea

blog m 3.14.14

I had the pleasure of viewing “Treasures from Korea: Arts and Culture of the Joseon Dynasty, 1392-1910” at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The Museum’s website describes the exhibit as: “the artistic achievements of the Joseon dynasty, a line of monarchs that ruled for more than five hundred years and left a substantial legacy for modern Korea. A variety of objects—including painted screens, scrolls, calligraphy, furnishings, costumes, accessories, and ritual wares—explore the roles of king and court, the distinct spheres of men and women in society, and religious beliefs. This is the first full-scale American exhibition to be devoted to art of the Joseon dynasty.”

Love Temple Wisdom No. 14

“When you deliberately seek positive aspects of whatever you are giving your attention to, you, in a sense, tune your vibrational tuner to more positive aspects of everything. And, of course, you could tune yourself negatively as well. But as you are deliberately looking for positive aspects in yourself or in others, you will find more of those things: "The better it gets, the better it gets," for you get more and more of what you are thinking about —whether you want it or not.” ---Abraham

  • Father Divine, a.k.a Reverend Major Jealous Divine, was the founder and leader of a metaphysical group called the International Peace Mission Movement established in 1932.

My first health fair table at East Falls Fitness.

This past weekend I gave free ten-minute Reiki treatments to visitors of a local neighborhood health fair located in the East Falls Fitness gym in Philadelphia, PA.  I was so excited to give Reiki to those who had never experienced it. Everyone came away feeling soothed and relaxed.  Some didn’t want to leave the chair.  Others claimed to benefit from physical relief.

Mind, Body, Spirit Expo at Lincoln Financial Field

On November 3, 2012, my husband and I checked out our first Mind, Body, Spirit Expo which took place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.  It is advertised as the largest expo of its kind (personal growth and spirituality) in the northeast.  I was excited to meet like-minded people, see weird and unusual things, and discover new products, books and information.  If you are wondering what you will encounter at such an expo, below are some highlights from our trip…
